IMC Pacifc Cartoon Mural

This has to be our job of the year, Dial a Cartoonist was commissioned to produce four large murals that featured all the staff at IMC Pacific. The four murals are to act as a room divider in IMC Pacific's new Sydney office.

The client breif was for us to feature all the brokers and support staff at IMC engaging in fun activities that reflected each persons personality.

"The main challenge was the surface of the panels we had to work with," says Project Manager Phil Tanner. "They have a laminate finish, so we could not simply paint directly onto the surface. Eventually after some testing we decided to produce large two meter digital prints (stickers) and apply them directly onto the surface".

We produced the cartoons using a combination of Corel Painter 9 and the latest Photoshop software. Most of the freehand drawing was done using a Wacom Graphics Tablet. The artists were Phil Tanner and Brett Bower.

It took several days for us to print the high resolution cartoons and another day to allow them to dry before the install. All up the entire project took about a month. The end result looks fantastic!
